6 Quiet Years

Miss Athena has been gone 6 years this week. STILL we miss her, still we remember her. Long live the queen.

Cousin Cleo, the kind hearted

We had the pleasure of hosting Ms. Cleo for an extended stay while her people were off to South America . Cousin {once or twice removed, I can't remember} to Molly & Skye. We had a blast in the mountains roaming the meadows and were lucky enough to have a few early spring snow days.

Two dog blog

It's April. How did it happen? Three months behind us and the horizon in front. There is a whole slew of projects burbling in the studio. New stamps are slowly eeking their way into existence on the sidelines of painting for a new show that opens in September ... which seems far away, but not considering the speed that 2013 is deserting us. I think it will be here before I realize that summer has come and gone.

Shop news

The second collection of produced stamps is nearly complete. All the pieces are in my studio slowly getting assembled then making their way over to my Etsy Shop! I have a new stamp manufacturer in Missouri and the wood blocks come from Michigan... all small family run businesses right here in the good ole USA. Check out the growing selection of stamps in the category "stamp multiples" or if you're like me and love the hand crafted check out the new prototypes in the "original rubber stamps" section.

I'm working on some new collections now that these are assembled and filed awaiting new homes. Sneak peeks coming on Worktable Wednesdays.

Ms. Molly by Teresa Zepeda

Teresa Zepeda, artist extraordinaire. This is a silkscreen and more than that, a reductive silkscreen. Which means this, it is made from one screen, each color successively blocked out starting from white to black. Teresa uses this medium in a way like no other, using a small paint brush and her eagle eye to make all that delicious texture within the frame.

At the same time, her ability to be one with her subject and capture the expression of a beloved pet or the dizzying effect of a carnival ride. I'm smitten and ever grateful for this amazing depiction of my beloved Ms. {firecracker redhead} Mollykins.
